Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 01/06/2026

At APILAMP, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how our IP address lookup service and its tools work and how we handle your information.

No Server-Side Data Storage

APILAMP does not store or retain any personal data on our servers. We function as a display and analysis service — data is reflected back to you from your own request and your own browser. Nothing is written to a database.

How Our Service Works

When you visit our website, we use your IP address and the metadata attached to your request (such as Cloudflare geolocation, HTTP headers, and browser-reported signals) to display information about your connection. This information is not stored on our servers beyond the lifetime of the request.

On the My IP and Full Disclosure pages, your IP address is checked against VPN and proxy databases operated by ApiLamp's own internal API (api.apilamp.com). This call is made server-side only and the result is displayed to you in real time; it is not logged or stored.

Full Disclosure Dashboard — Client-Side Probes

The Full Disclosure page (/my-data) intentionally runs a set of browser-side detection techniques to show you what information websites can learn about you. This includes:

  • Canvas fingerprinting (a hash of a rendered canvas — no image is sent anywhere)
  • Audio context fingerprinting (a hash of audio processing output)
  • WebGL renderer information (GPU vendor and renderer string)
  • WebRTC local IP address detection (ICE candidate gathering)
  • Font detection via canvas width measurement
  • Screen, device memory, and hardware concurrency signals
  • Battery status (where browser API is available)
  • Network connection type (navigator.connection)

All of these probes run entirely in your browser. The resulting values are displayed to you locally and are never transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere. The purpose is purely educational — to demonstrate what tracking techniques exist.

Lookup Tools

The IP Lookup, Subdomain Lookup, and WHOIS/RDAP Lookup tools perform queries on your behalf from our edge servers. When you submit a query:

  • The query target (e.g. an IP address, domain, or hostname) is sent to upstream data providers (Cloudflare DoH, crt.sh, IANA RDAP registries, and ApiLamp's internal API) solely to retrieve the requested information.
  • Your own IP address is used as part of the outbound HTTP request to those services; it is not logged by us.
  • We do not cache query results or associate them with your identity.

Speed Test

The Speed Test page embeds a test widget provided by Meter.net. When you use it, your browser connects directly to Meter.net's servers. Please refer to Meter.net's privacy policy for information about how they handle your data during a speed test.

Third-Party Services

Our service uses the following external providers for infrastructure and data:

  • Cloudflare — CDN, DDoS protection, and edge metadata (geolocation, ASN). See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare DNS over HTTPS — used server-side for DNS lookups in the IP and subdomain tools.
  • crt.sh — Certificate Transparency log search, used server-side for subdomain enumeration.
  • IANA RDAP — Public registration data access, used server-side for WHOIS lookups.
  • Meter.net — Speed test widget, used client-side when you visit the Speed Test page.
  • OpenStreetMap — Map tiles embedded to visualise IP geolocation. See OSM's privacy policy.
  • flagcdn.com — Country flag images. No personal data is transmitted beyond the standard HTTP request.

Cookies and Tracking

We do not use first-party cookies or any form of tracking technology. Each visit to our site is treated as a new, independent session. Note that third-party embeds (Meter.net) may set their own cookies in accordance with their own policies.

Children's Privacy

Our service is a general-purpose informational tool and does not collect or store any personal information from users of any age.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
